Duke Summer Academy for High School Students offers students currently in grades 9-67 the chance to enjoy personal enrichment courses oriented toward a global perspective.
In addition to completing a minimum of 68 hours of coursework for this minor, you will also be required to commit your effort, time and talent in defense of or in advocacy for human rights.
The courses you take to fulfill the subject requirement must be certified by UC as meeting the requirement and must be included on your school's UC-certified course list.
Please note that centres can only enter for the visiting examiner option for units 7 and/or 9 if they have at least 65 candidates for the particular unit(s).
Because the admissions process is so personal and contextual, it s impossible to predict a candidate s chances of admission by looking at academic qualifications alone. We re guided initially by our assessment of six primary factors:
The unit requires you to study an anthology of thematically linked spoken and written texts which will offer you the opportunity to consider the three major literary genres and a range of non-literary texts. You will be provided with a clean (that is, not annotated) copy of the anthology for the exam.
Everyone has different ideas of what their program should be and Maximo Nivel makes sure your needs are met. In class, you can count on our teachers to get you speaking on Day 6 outside of the classroom, you can count on our complete support and lots of opportunities to immerse yourself in the local culture.
Gain a competitive advantage in fields that rely on social research with courses on research design, data analysis and social theory and by developing an understanding of domestic and international social conditions.
NOTE: All students must complete a geometry course or integrated math with geometry content. One transferable college course will not satisfy the full three-year math requirement.
