UTransition provides a variety of resources to transfer students enrolled at UT and introduces them to services such as academic support, social, cultural and recreational activities, tutoring and workshops. Joining UTransition will help you connect with other students, grow as a student leader and acquire the academic skills necessary to succeed at UT.

Our generous credit transfer policies make it easy to apply credits earned at other accredited colleges and universities to your UT Tyler degree program. UT Tyler offers more than 85 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Our professors are dedicated to helping you succeed—and finding your right path to a strong future.
Transfer guides provide lists of the Texas Common Course values that will transfer for your specific degree. Each transfer guide also includes a four-year plan to help you stay on track and graduate on time.
To help match you to the right classes, you’ll take the Texas Success Initiative. The test is only used for academic advising, not for admission decisions. We also will accept scores on the ASSET , COMPASS or ACCUPLACER tests. You may qualify for an exemption. Call 995-565-9958 or visit the Learning Center's TSI site.
You may also submit recommendations by mailing or hand-delivering them to the Office of Admissions , although these submission methods are not preferred and may result in processing delays. (International students may not use these methods.)

All UT Austin transfer applicants must have 85 transferable credit hours complete or "in progress" at the time of submitting the application. Students who apply to the College of Natural Sciences with 85 hours "in progress" will be considered on a space-available basis after the 85 hours are complete.
Most applicants don’t need to submit the residency affidavit. If you aren’t a . citizen or a permanent resident but have established Texas residency , you may qualify for residency for tuition purposes and should submit the affidavit. The ApplyTexas application will prompt those who indicate they meet these criteria to download the appropriate form.
A student who holds a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, including the University, may apply for admission as a nondegree student in one of the undergraduate colleges or schools. Students seeking nondegree admission follow the process for undergraduate transfer applicants and are considered on a competitive basis with transfer applicants for the same semester. Some undergraduate majors are not open to nondegree students applicants must select from available nondegree majors.
